What is Acupuncture?

Traditional Chinese Medicine is an intricate and almost poetic system that has an entirely different way of understanding the human body compared to western science. I’m constantly trying to draw parallels and comparisons to make it easier to understand not just for me but mostly for my clients who have invested their effort into this beautiful healing modality.

As a practitioner I draw upon my in-depth knowledge to carefully select the particular aspect or technique of TCM that each patient requires. During this process I hope to educate them in the TCM disease process to actively engage them in their own healing process. This of course is dependent on many factors, not simply the current disease but also the physical, emotional and environmental demands on my patients. In this way we can see that a person is the sum total of all of their parts, therefore we will work together, as a team, to help you care for your body and live at your optimal potential.

My skills as a TCM practitioner have been steadied by my last 9 years of yoga teaching where I have been working with people and dis-ease through empowering people to better understand their body and begin their own healing journey.

What is a Nutritionist?

Elly is a qualified nutritionist with over 16 years’ experience working in the industry, both in compounding laboratories formulating individualised medicines as well as in private practice. She loves working with children (from infants to young adults) and supporting women with diet and nutrition before, during and after pregnancy. Elly has a special interest in cancer prevention and has worked closely with cancer patients, offering them dietary support during their treatment journey and beyond.

Elly has also been educated in the treatment of other conditions, which mainstream medicine can struggle to resolve, such as anxiety and depression, brain fog, fertility issues, mould illness, systemic and gut inflammation, digestive disorders and gut dysbiosis.

“Over the years I have encountered various little battles with my own health, which has helped to educate and shape me into the practitioner I am today.

I have a passion for gut health and diet and optimal nutrition before, during and after pregnancy, baby weaning and in children’s health, and understand these can be quite challenging stages of life. I have been blessed with two beautiful children of my own, and so I have experienced first-hand the difficulties encountered and the time management skills required to maintain wellness during these times.

Working with one of Australia’s largest compounding laboratories has given me a thorough understanding of how to formulate individualised medicines. It has also allowed me to receive specialised training in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders, including ADD/ADHD. I have also been educated in the treatment of other conditions, which mainstream medicine can struggle to resolve.

Life is the most incredible gift, especially whilst in good health. I would welcome the opportunity to help guide you through the sometimes confusing, yet thoroughly rewarding journey to optimal health and wellness.”
