The Reset Rooms · Manly
Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
What’s involved
A portable soft-shell chamber held at 1.5 ATA — above normal atmospheric pressure — with a member of our team present throughout.
- Sessions of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes
- Sit, recline or lie down inside
- Supervised from start to finish
The chamber
What “mild” means
Mild hyperbaric therapy is defined by its pressure. Our chamber runs at 1.5 ATA, well below the levels used in a hospital setting, which is why it is described as mild rather than as clinical hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Book a sessionOxyRevo Forward 90
A portable soft-shell sitting chamber. Four windows, an adjustable folding chair and a 10 litre oxygen concentrator, in its own room within the Reset Rooms.
1.5 ATA, enriched air
ATA stands for atmospheres absolute. At sea level you are already at 1.0 ATA; the chamber holds 1.5 for your time at pressure. The air inside is enriched to around 31% oxygen.
Sit, recline or lie down
The chair inside adjusts, so you can sit upright, half recline or lie flat for the session. People read, listen to something or rest.
Never unattended
A member of our team stays with you for the whole session and you can ask to stop at any point. This is the one Reset Room that is not self-paced.
Regulatory status
This chamber is not included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. Nothing on this page is a claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. If you are seeking treatment for a diagnosed condition, speak with your GP or a hyperbaric medicine unit.
Your session
What to expect
If you have not done this before, here is how a session runs.
- Our team shows you the chamber and talks you through it before you get in, including how to clear your ears.
- The pressure is raised gradually to 1.5 ATA. Most people notice this in their ears, similar to a plane taking off.
- It is held there for your booked time at pressure while you read, listen to something or rest.
- The pressure is brought back down gradually at the end. Some people notice ear pressure or mild light-headedness as they get out; it passes.
- Someone is with you throughout, and you can ask to stop at any point.
Your booking

Good to know
Before you book
You need to be able to clear your ears
The pressure changes as the chamber goes up and comes back down, and you need to be able to equalise your ears the way you would on a plane. Our team shows you how before your first session. Please do not book if you have a cold, blocked sinuses or heavy nasal congestion on the day — ring us and we will move the booking.
Tell us before you book if any of this applies
Epilepsy. Diabetes. Recent ear, sinus or chest surgery. An untreated respiratory or lung condition. Ocular hypertension. Pregnancy, a heart or blood pressure condition, or ongoing medical care for anything else. Please speak with your GP first, and tell our team as well — if you are unsure, call us on 02 7228 5363 before you book.
What some people notice
Temporary ear pressure during the pressure change, and mild light-headedness as you get out. Both pass. Tell the team member with you if anything feels off at any point in the session — the pressure can be brought back down straight away.
ATA stands for atmospheres absolute. At sea level you are at 1.0 ATA. Our chamber holds 1.5 for your time at pressure, which is why it is described as mild — clinical hyperbaric therapy runs at considerably higher pressure, in a hospital hyperbaric unit.
You sit, half recline or lie flat on an adjustable chair inside a soft-shell chamber with four windows. Most people notice the pressure change in their ears as it goes up and comes down, similar to a plane. During the session itself people read, listen to something or rest.
Longer than the session length you book. The 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute options are time at pressure — bringing the pressure up at the start and back down at the end sits either side of that, and we ask you to arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. Our team will tell you the full window when you book.
Yes. Someone from our team is with you for the whole session, and you can ask to bring the pressure back down at any point.
Nothing in particular. Come in comfortable clothes, and bring something to read or listen to if you would like. Water is provided. Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in, and do not come in if you have a cold or blocked sinuses that day.
Yes, subject to suitability and availability. A 60 minute session can be added to a consultation with Charles for $60, and there are combinations with the sauna and ice bath. The figures are in the tables above. See his sessions or mention it when you book.
