Integrated Health. Intelligent Recovery.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for Whole-Body Balance

At Akasha Integrative Health, we offer a traditional yet scientifically grounded approach to care that supports and nourishes the body through Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. These therapies have been practised for thousands of years and continue to play a powerful role in modern health care. By gently stimulating the body’s natural energy systems, they encourage balance, vitality, and lasting wellbeing.

Our Manly-based acupuncture practitioners integrate Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with contemporary diagnostic understanding to help you restore harmony across mind, body and spirit.

Acupuncture and dry needling both relieve pain.

The Philosophy Behind Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine views health as a continuous flow of energy, known as Qi, moving through pathways called meridians. When this energy becomes blocked or imbalanced, symptoms of illness, pain, or emotional disharmony may arise.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine work to restore this flow, addressing not only the immediate condition but also the underlying patterns contributing to it.

This holistic perspective recognises that emotional well-being, lifestyle, and physical health are deeply connected.

At Akasha, our goal is to create lasting results by supporting your body’s natural restorative processes rather than simply masking symptoms.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Your first acupuncture session begins with a detailed consultation where we explore your health history, current symptoms, and lifestyle. This allows our practitioner to identify the energetic imbalances contributing to your concerns.

Fine, sterile needles are then gently inserted into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow, release blockages, and support the body’s natural recovery.

Most clients find the treatment deeply relaxing, often leaving the clinic feeling lighter, calmer, and re-energised.

Follow-up sessions are tailored to your progress, with adjustments in treatment points, herbal support, and lifestyle recommendations as your body begins to restore balance.

Conditions Supported by Acupuncture

Acupuncture is widely recognised for its ability to relieve pain and enhance general wellbeing. It can be used to complement Western medical care or as a stand-alone therapy for a range of conditions, including:

Neck, back, shoulder, and joint pain

Sports injuries and muscle strain

Headaches and migraines

Anxiety, stress, and emotional imbalance

Fertility and menstrual irregularities

Sleep disturbances and fatigue

Digestive discomfort and bloating

Immune and respiratory support

Our practitioners design individual treatment plans to suit your specific needs, helping you feel more grounded, resilient, and energised.

Chinese Herbal Medicine for Internal Balance

Alongside acupuncture, we offer Chinese Herbal Medicine to support internal rejuvenation and strengthen the body’s natural defences.

Herbal formulas are prescribed based on your unique constitution and symptoms, addressing the root cause of imbalance rather than surface-level relief.

Chinese herbs are used to nourish the organs, regulate hormones, and support the nervous and digestive systems.

Our qualified practitioners ensure all herbal products meet Australian safety standards and are carefully selected for quality and effectiveness.

Fertility and Reproductive Health Support

Acupuncture is increasingly sought after for its role in fertility enhancement and reproductive health. By improving blood circulation, balancing hormones, and reducing stress, it helps create an optimal environment for conception and healthy pregnancy.

TCM can also be used to support men’s reproductive health, improve sperm quality, and enhance vitality.

Many clients choose acupuncture alongside IVF or medical fertility treatments as a complementary therapy that supports emotional and physical wellbeing throughout the process.

Pain and Injury Rehabilitation

Acupuncture is highly effective in relieving acute and chronic pain. By stimulating specific points, it increases blood flow, releases endorphins, and reduces inflammation. Our practitioners may combine acupuncture with dry needling, or motor point activation to accelerate recovery.

Whether you are an athlete, recovering from an injury, or managing chronic pain, this approach promotes more efficient recovery, improved mobility, and optimal health.

Meet Our Acupuncture Practitioner

DR Amrit Dean

Amrit is a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner with a decade of experience in acupuncture and herbal medicine, supported by more than 20 years as a remedial massage therapist. Her background includes lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, reflexology, Zen Thai Shiatsu, Kahuna, and energy‑based therapies, along with moxibustion, cupping, and hot stone treatments.

She supports immunity, digestion, sleep, mental wellbeing, metabolism, pain, and injuries, with a strong focus on women’s health — from menstrual regulation and PCOS to endometriosis, menopause, fertility, and pregnancy. With extensive experience in pregnancy massage and reflexology and postgraduate studies with midwives, she offers safe, comprehensive pre‑ and post‑natal care.

Her treatments are nurturing, grounding, and deeply restorative, blending massage, acupressure, guided breathing, and acupuncture, with the option of integrated hot stone deep‑tissue work. She tailors each session to address multiple concerns in a single, holistic plan.

Amrit’s approach is shaped by her Health Science degree from UTS and an internship in an integrative hospital in China, where she saw Chinese and Western medicine working together. Her early work in physiotherapy rehabilitation and lymphoedema care adds further depth. Outside the clinic, she enjoys swimming, cooking, and weaving herbalism and food‑as‑medicine into daily life.

Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, support for fertility, or overall well-being, Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can help restore the flow of energy that keeps your body and mind in harmony.
